IPV6 Looking Glass

You have probably noticed that this blog is very much in support of the move to IPV6, without it none of this would be possible! This server and my whole network in fact is powered by the JANET .ac.uk IPV6 broker service with a secondary fallback to IPV6 provided by Hurricane Electric. Whilst JANET is only available to academics, Hurricane Electric offer IPV6 to anyone! If you search around this site you’ll find many blog posts documenting various IPV6 projects, aswell as howto’s!

I’ve decided to build and launch this service, purely because to acheive most of what these tools do you have to “shop” around on google for a while in several different sources; so enjoy and make sure to put a valid ipv6 address in the box. Any abuse will be recorded and reported. Please be patient for your results, things such as trace’s can take time

IPV4 address space is running out rapidly and even with the introduction of clever subnetting, NAT’ing and other technologies and techniques, the lifespan of this protocol is limited. Below is a live feed of how severe the situation really is!
